Apple Juice in the Making

With the toothache gone, I feel a new man. Life doesn't seem a shitty existence any more. The after-effects, however, are visibly negative - I look gray and pale. Exhausted like Jesus after carrying that cross to the Calvary Mount.

What I need is rest. Will devote this day to making apple juice, for a change. Our garden is littered with apples; they crunch and squelch under foot. This job takes much time - apples must be collected, washed, cut, put through the meat mincer with a special device from which the squashed juice comes in drops, the obtained mass must be squeezed in a gauze. Then glass jars must be washed and heated, the juice must be heated to the boiling point (WITHOUT ACTUAL BOILING in order to preserve vitamins), poured into them, and closed quickly with the help of a jennying machine using tin lids. Laborious? Yes! But having a glass of cool apple juice, self made and absolutely reliable, is SO refreshing in the middle of winter when vitamins are short...
